The Personal Financial Readiness program provides financial information, education and personal financial counseling to assist individuals and families with achieving and maintaining financial readiness. Certified Financial professionals provide free assistance to help maximizing income, control expenses, use credit wisely, saving/investing, and much more. Our certified personal counselor/s will assist you in achieving and maintaining personal goals; increasing financial stability and becoming more financially resilient. One-on-one financial appointments is offered as well as group seminars and classes.

PFR also supports the following Air Force Aid Society programs:

Bundles for Babies
This program is for expecting parents, active duty and spouses and DoD civilians stationed on Schriever SFB to include the guard and reserves.  A variety of briefers provide of information on various topics: the cost of raising a baby, car seat safety, child care, and so much more. The bonus is a $50 gift card to AAFES!

Car Care Because We Care
Vouchers for oil and filter changes, and vehicle safety check are available to spouses of active duty personnel who are deployed 30 days or more or on a remote assignment.  The redeemed vouchers are only valid at the Peterson SFB service station and must be the primary vehicle of the military member.  Application for the voucher must be completed at the M&FRC.  Vouchers are also available for First Term Airmen who meet with the Personal Financial Readiness manager for a financial check-up.

Child Care for PCS
The AFAS will pay for up to 20 hours of childcare per child for PCSing active duty members and their familiesThe member can be PCSing in or out of the base and member will use of the Family Child Care Program either on Schriever SFB or Peterson SFB. To receive the certificate, the member will need to bring a copy of their orders to the M&FRC.

Give Parents a Break
The AFAS recognizes that military families are subject to unique stresses due to the nature of military life – deployments, remote tours of duty, extended working hours, etc. Families are often separated from spouses as well as from extended family members who might otherwise offer support. In an effort to help these families.

Air Force Aid Society
AFAS is the OFFICIAL CHARITY of the Air Force. AFAS helps relieve the financial stressors Air Force and Space Force members and their families can experience. Through their emergency assistance, community and education programs, AFAS has provided more than $215 million in direct support to the community. AFAS has implemented NEW assistance programs in order to meet the continually changing needs of our community.

General Henry H. Arnold Education Grant Program
Recognizing that higher education costs were rising while more restrictive needs tests were limiting access to loan programs, the Society created an Education Grant Program in 1988. This program provides $2,000 education grants to eligible applicants for assisting in the payment of tuition, books and fees, or other direct education expenses. Applications are accepted Jan -Apr each year. Visit AFAS.ORG for more information and to apply.
